Tournaments – Each year the
club holds various different tournaments, for both seniors and juniors. In
the junior tournament the players compete in mixed doubles men’s or
woman doubles and of course singles. The same format occurs for the senior
tournament but this is the most prestigious tournament of them all, not
only do the seniors play the invited juniors can play in it, the invited
juniors are the better and more talented juniors of the club. The winners
of the tournament go on the huge plaques around the clubhouse on the
walls, dating back to around 1960’s. Each event has its own unique
trophy, in which the winners keep are able to keep for a year. I was on
holiday during the junior tournament, but I managed to get to the semi
finals of the singles, and finals of both the men’s and mixed doubles,
but coming out trophy less at the end. |
